RULES & REGULATION

GENERAL PROVISIONS

Event Name: The competition is officially named “L’Étape Paraguay by Tour de France – Encarnación” and is part of the international L’Étape Series circuit, owned by Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.).

Nature of the Competition: This is a road cycling event for amateur cyclists designed to recreate the experience of a Tour de France stage on authorized public roads.

Organization: The event is organized by the promoting entity authorized by L’Étape Series, in coordination with sports authorities, municipal authorities, and security agencies.

Sporting Authority: The sporting management of the event will be under the responsibility of the Race Director, the Technical Committee, and the appointed Officials.

PARTICIPATION

General Conditions: Individuals may participate if they complete the registration process, accept the event regulations, and meet the age and health requirements.

Minimum Age: 16 years old for the short distance; 18 years old for the medium and long distances.

Physical Fitness: Each participant declares that they are in adequate physical condition to practice cycling.

Responsibility: Participants compete under their own risk and responsibility.

REGISTRATION

Registration: Registration must be completed exclusively through the official channels of the event.

Participant Capacity: The organization may establish a maximum number of participants.

Confirmation: Registration will be considered valid once the payment has been completed.

DISTANCES AND COURSES

Official Distances

  • Short distance: approximately 30 km
  • Medium distance: approximately 60 km
  • Long distance: approximately 140 km

Course: The course will be properly marked and will include safety personnel and support vehicles.

Modifications: The organization may modify the course for safety reasons or in cases of force majeure.

CATEGORIES

Categories: Categories may be divided by gender, age, and distance.

Classification: There will be a general classification and category classifications.

EQUIPMENT

Permitted Bicycles: Road or gravel bicycles adapted for road riding are permitted.

Helmet: The use of an approved helmet is mandatory.

Race Number: The official race number must be worn visibly.

COMPETITION RULES

Start System: The start may be organized in blocks or corrals.

Drafting: Drafting is permitted between cyclists but prohibited behind vehicles.

Vehicles: Support from private vehicles is prohibited.

Aid Stations: Aid and refreshments are allowed only in designated official zones.

Cut-off Time: The organization will establish maximum time limits for each section of the course.

SAFETY

Official Vehicles: Official vehicles will include a lead vehicle, race motorcycles, ambulances, and a sweep vehicle.

Medical Services: Medical personnel will be present at strategic points along the course.

AWARDS

Awards: Prizes will be awarded for the overall male and female classifications, as well as for category classifications.

Ceremony: Winners must attend the official awards ceremony.

ANTI-DOPING

Anti-Doping Control: The organization may conduct anti-doping tests in accordance with international standards.

Prohibited Substances: International anti-doping regulations apply regarding prohibited substances.

ENVIRONMENT

Waste: Participants must dispose of waste only in designated authorized zones.

IMAGE RIGHTS

Use of Image: Participants authorize the use of their image for promotional purposes.

FINAL PROVISIONS

Interpretation: The interpretation of these regulations corresponds to the Race Director and the Technical Committee.

Modifications: The organization may modify these regulations for safety reasons.

Acceptance: Registration implies full acceptance of these regulations.
